Tribus Mixes: Small White Elephant

The Tribus Mixes (pronounced Mi-Heys) art cooperative  provides economic opportunity to the Mixes tribal descendants with a unique approach to training artists in central Oaxaca. They then return to their remote native communities to work – preserving culture and and family. Generally carved using Mexican cedar these pieces are a fun inventive style. Most are textured with little dollops of paint dots across the figure. Fun colorful and and also something a little different for collectors.
