Isaias Alejandro Morales Delgado: “Homobrije Guacamayero” Alebrije Paper Figure
$695.00 - Collector Price
An exciting new artist for us. A few years ago we introduced you to the mechanical folk art of Josue Eleazar Castro. Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to the work of Izzy Morales from Guanajuato. He is an amazing talent in the field of traditional paper alebrijes and he has developed a wild imaginative modern style all his own. He has been working with paper art since he was 6 years old. Now in his early thirties, he competes in national competitions with his award winning work. These pieces are highly labor intensive and like Josue, he works exclusively on one of kind fine art wonders rather than taking a mass produced commercial approach. It has paid off for him and he has developed into a well respected artist nationally.
This piece is a prime example of his fantastical work. This is a part man, part parrot fusion. It is also a a bit of a play on words because this wild creature is also a vendor of a famous street food torta dish from Guanajuato called Guacamayas. He is in essence a human guacamayo (Parrot) selling food named after the parrot itself. His parrot head comes off revealing a day of the dead skeleton figure.
Note these pictures do not do this justice and the detail in person is amazing. This is exclusively available direct from the artist and ships DHL international within 3-5 business days. Price of shipping is included. Don’t miss out as this is also available at his gallery in Mexico and it is first come, first serve.
