Agustín Cruz Prudencio & Jesus Sosa Santiago: Warrior & Conquistador

Large showcase collector piece. Agustin Jr. takes after his dad (Agustín Cruz Tinoco) as an amazing carver. This single piece Conquistador Warrior is based on an original style his dad would carve in the early days but never painted back then. Kind of a Day of the Dead nahual. In this spectacular piece, Agustin teamed up with his brother in law, premier painter Jesus Sosa Santiago. Jesus does very clean work and is very talented. So far much of his work mimics other artists but in time I think we will see a unique painting style emerge from him. This is by far one of my favorites and really brings out the best of the carving and Cruz family tradition.
